Debut solo exhibition showcasing Hari Katragadda’s work. His subject, here, is the life of the Ganga – at once the most sacred of rivers, and the most polluted. And the lives of the vulnerable communities who work with, and in, it: the Doms of Varanasi and the workers in Kanpur’s tanneries and glue factories, stigmatised by caste apartheid as well as exposed to toxic health hazards as everyday reality.
Opens at 5 pm on 11th January at the Cymroza Art Gallery, as part of Mumbai Gallery Weekend 2024.
The show will remain on view until 17th February 2024.
